Creating family photos for the Andrews family at Grand Ravines Park was pretty fun because I’ve known the family for some years. We actually go to church together in Grand Rapids, and Owen, the son, did a lot of voice acting for me at my day job at the radio station. So it was really an honor to get to work with them for their family photos and Owen’s senior photos!
Grand Ravines Park is a beautiful area for family photography because there’s such a diverse range of scenes. There are multiple great fields of wildflowers in the spring, summer, and fall; paved and unpaved walking paths through the woods; a river with fun photo opportunities; and even a covered bridge!
Grand Ravines Park is one of my favorite locations to take photos in the Grand Rapids area (it’s actually in Georgetown Township). You have to be sure of what you put into your maps app though. “Grand Ravines Park North” is the area that I like for taking pictures; there’s also a great dog park to the south that you may be directed to if you just search for “Grand Ravines Park”.
